Sainik School Exam Details

Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. The Society runs Sainik Schools. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE. Sainik Schools prepare Cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training Academies for officers. At present there are a total of 33 Sainik Schools across the country.

  • 33 Old Sainik School- SS Route
  • New Approved Sanik School- NSS Route (60 % and 40 %)

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate is eligible who studying in Class IV, Class V, Class VI as per “Date of Birth Criteria” mentioned in prospectus of Sainik School Society for admission in Class VI of total seats of respective 33 old school and new approved schools.

A candidate is eligible who studying in Class VIII as per “Date of Birth Criteria” mentioned in prospectus of Sainik School Society for admission in Class IX of respective 33 old school and new approved schools; as per vacant seats available.

  • Class VI: Boys & Girls Age:
    • Between 10-12 years of age, as on Sanik School Exam Year

    • Example- A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2024 for admission to Class VI, i.e. he/she should have been born between 01 April 2012 and 31 March 2014 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2024-25.
  • Class IX: Boys & Girls Age:
    • Between 13-15 years of age, as on Sanik School Exam Year.

    • Example- A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as on 31 March 2024, for admission to Class IX, i.e. he/ she should have been born between 01 April 2009 and 31 March 2011 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2024-25.

Exam Pattern

Class VI: Boys & Girls (Subject = 4)

Time = 2 Hour 30 Minute without any break.

Important For OBC Candidate:

OBC-NCL List (Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central List of Other Backward Classes available on the website of National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), www.ncbc.nic.in as on the first day of the month in which the process of Online Admission Form for AISSEE commences. Candidates falling within this list may mention OBC- NCL in the Category column. State/ UT list OBC (NCL) candidates who are not in the Central List of OBC (NCL) must not choose the category “OBC-NCL” while selecting category option and should choose Un-Reserve (UR) category.
